I believe this will be the year that americans catch up with the rest of the world in owning HD tv's. For a country that is so techno savy it is surprising that HD has not been more popular.
It seems that this year will be the changing of the guard so to speak since the prices have dramatically dropped. This year there will probably be an HD TV in every home.
So maybe, just maybe we will make that 2009 date when they change the standard tv signal to a High Definition signal.
